Ten years on from their debut record, German death metallers Deserted Fear have a new album out today on Century Media records. DOOMSDAY was written over the course of the pandemic and recorded late last year by guitarist and songwriter Fabian Hildebrant in his home studio.
The band are no strangers to European audiences having toured extensively with bands like Morbid Angel and Morgoth, as well as being regulars at festivals all over the continent.
The pandemic allowed the band to pour times into the new record, resulting in what the band call their “most varied and mature record to date”.
A week before the release, I got on a Zoom call with Fabian to get the lowdown on the record, the amps and guitars they used, songwriting in a pandemic, and their love for creating killer music videos!
