Organizers of Welcome to Rockville have revealed that Nine Inch Nails will replace Foo Fighters as headliners on the festival’s last day, reports Consequence of Sound. Trent Reznor and his band will be taking the slot originally reserved for Foo Fighters who canceled their all remaining tour dates after the sudden mid-tour passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins. Nine Inch Nails will also be replacing Foo Fighters on the Boston Calling Festival on its opening night, Friday, May 27.
Taking place in Daytona Beach, Florida, this year’s Welcome to Rockville starts on Wednesday, May 18, and lasts until Sunday, May 22. Aside from Nine Inch Nails, the bill includes a number of high-caliber names. Thursday, May 19, will feature Kiss as headliners, while Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Black Label Society, and Mammoth WVH among others will be performing on the same day.
On Friday, May 20, we’ll have Korn, Megadeth, and Breaking Benjamin leading the way. Guns N’ Roses headlines on Saturday, with Shinedown and Rise Against as support. And the final night, May 22, Nine Inch Nails will be accompanied by Jane’s Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins. The so-called Kick Off Party takes place on Wednesday, May 18, and will feature Steel Panther.
Aside from Nine Inch Nails replacing Foo Fighters, another change has been made by the festival’s organizers. Parkway Drive have officially canceled their North American tour, including their performance on this year’s Welcome to Rockville. Other cancelations also include Hatebreed, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Solence. The festival announced Underoath, RED, John Harvie, and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown as replacements.
